How business days are counted
A business day here is any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Counting starts on the day after your start date, so one business day after a Friday is the following Monday, and one business day after a Saturday is also Monday.
Public holidays are not removed. Holidays differ between countries, regions and even employers, so if a holiday falls inside your period, add one extra business day for each holiday you need to skip.
Counting weekdays between two dates
Switch to “Days between dates” and enter both dates. The result splits the total into weekdays and weekend days. By default the end date is not counted; tick “Include the end date” if both the first and last day should be included, as is common for leave requests.
Common uses
Payment terms such as “net 10 business days”, delivery estimates, notice periods and response deadlines are often stated in working days. Entering the start date and the number of days gives you the exact deadline and its day of the week.
